Red Acre Farm in Cedar City, Utah
This little gem is a must visit in Cedar City, Utah. Only planning to drive through? Take the extra time to pay this place a visit and buy a trinket or fresh goods. This place works on the honor system as it is a working farm. During the summer months they hold different functions once a month to bring the community together and raise money. Two functions I attended where a breakfast and a burgers N bikes event. Both where delicious and sold out.
If you plan to attend a event come early as the line starts before opening hours. Like they say early bird gets the worms. People gather and use this as a social event to catch up and connect. You can go see the various animals and there is a playground for children to play on. This is fully an outdoor event. While there are tables and chairs – feel free to bring your own chair to help out. At the end of an event if you are still there everyone pitches to help put up the chairs and tables.
The farm store runs off of the honor system and has the vegetables and fruits which are in season as well as homemade bread. There is an assortment of fridge/freezer items, books, jams, spreads and crafted items. There is an option to pay cash, card or venmo. With each purchase you fill out a sheet of paper saying what and how much you are purchasing. Summer 2021
