How to troubleshoot when your Ram Pro Master Van blower motor stops working. January 2023

What do you do when your Ram Pro Master blower motor stops working? Lets troubleshoot this issue.

1. Check your coolant fluid levels. If it is low fill sometime the blower will not work if this fluid is low.

2. Check you fuse’s – I have two fuse boxes in the Pro Master (in the driver side of the engine and under the dashboard on the drivers side). Check them with a voltmeter. If all fuses are good – keep going.

There are only two options left the blower motor resistor and the blower motor. Commonly they are located either under the dashboard on the passenger side or in the engine under the hood. In my Ram Pro Master 2020 it is located on the passenger side.

3. First check with a voltmeter if you are getting anything from the motor resistor. When checking turn the dial for the blower up – if it lights up then the resistor is good and the issue should be the motor area. In my case the resistor was no good. The resistor is held in by two screws and it has a cord plugged into it. This is easy to remove and reinstall (unplug the cord and remove the screws). Depending on the year of your rig you can easily get a replacement from a auto parts store or online. Since my rig is a 2020 it was not widely distributed yet so it had to be special ordered. I ended up going to the dealer after troubleshooting and letting them do it as I have a great warranty and it was cheaper for them to replace it then me order the part. I went to Mike Toler Chrysler Jeep RAM in Morehead City, NC. They were professional, friendly and the facility was neat, clean with great seating options and plug ins.

4. If you have come this far the it is something wrong with the motor.
