Karranaville Falls is located just outside of Cedar City, Utah. It requires purchasing a ticket/permit (currently $12) to hike this family friendly approx 4 mile out and back hike. There are two waterfalls on this hike with a mix of slot canyons, sandy dirt trail and stream walking. The first waterfall had a new ladder put in recently. The path has plenty of shady spots. On especially hot days the cool water feels epic. The second waterfall is even more beautiful. It is about .5 miles beyond the first waterfall. It is so very peaceful.
Wear shoes which can get wet and dry fast or study sandals. It is helpful to have poles or a walking stick for two reasons. There are areas where you need to test water depth and depending on the time of year it is helpful for balance in the canyon river.
